"Stunning
snowshoeing trip"
Yannick and Flavian took us to the Fischbacher Alps for a snowshoeing
trip. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and while it wasn't too
challenging, it was definitely good exercise. Plus, with snowshoeing,
you can be a little more free with where you walk: Yannick led us
through the trees and (on purpose!) took us sliding down some slopes,
but always kept us on track. They were knowledgeable about the area, as
well. I had a wonderful time, and will certainly be back.
Some extra-good things:
- The group was a lot of fun - I enjoyed talking not just to Yannick
and Flavian, but the other people who came along!
- Yannick tailored the trip for the day: he realized it was going to be
a bit colder and windier, so he adjusted the route to make it more
enjoyable.
- Yannick sent out an email after the hike with pictures and details
about where we went, the elevation gain, etc.

"Best
thing in Vienna"
Easily the highlight of my time in Vienna. Yannick led a full group of
us on a round loop of Raxalpe West Plateau. A few of us made the summit
of Heukuppe at 2,007 meters, which is not particularly high but was
done at a good speed as we ran out of sunlight. If you have a chance,
do go on a trek with Yannick. His knowledge is spot on and even though
we had some tricky terrain on our trek, he made sure everyone made it
through. |

"Amazing"
Some really great scenery. Loved every part of it. Lots to do and lots
to see would definitely recommend. Also a great day out for the whole
family. |

"Breathtaking
views"
I am so glad that I booked this mountain hike through the Austrian
Alps. Yannick was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable about the
mountains, hiking, and backpacking. The views from the summit were
truly amazing and the perfect place to eat my picnic lunch. I'm not
going to lie, the ascent was wicked difficult but the adventure was
worth the sore muscles the next day! I would do it again and highly
recommend Yannick as your hiking guide. |

"Tour of the lower
Alps"
It was a lot of fun, I was in a group of 4 twenty year olds.
Challenging but totally worth it. Our guide Rene was a huge help and
kept a great pace. He picked us up from our hostel and dropped us at
the airport. Would no doubt recommend. |

"Excellent day in
the mountains"
It was a really enjoyable day out of the city and in the mountains with
Yannick and the rest of the group. Yannick is professional,
knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He expertly managed to cater for all
levels of fitness within the group that were booked on this day. Not an
easy task but managed well by Yannick. I learnt plenty about the local
flora, fauna and geology beside the very good walking. Excellent value
for money. Thanks Yannick. |

"Fantastic hike up
Schneealpe in Upper Styria"
This was a beautiful hike with wonderful people! Yannick is very
friendly and humorous. Most importantly, Yannick is an excellent
outdoors leader; for example, he was able to accommodate the different
skill levels of all eight hikers on the tour. He also provides very
useful information on his website and in an email on how to prepare
before the hike. For example, it's very important to dress in layers as
some parts of the hike are more strenuous than others and the
temperature drops as you increase in elevation. This particular hike
was labeled as moderate, which averaging out the entire hike was fairly
accurate. However, I would label the ascent as moderately strenuous --
it seemed like we made most of our elevation gain (about 1100 meters
total) within the first third of the hike (8.5 km total) and on pretty
rocky terrain. So as Yannick stresses a number of times before a hike,
be sure to were hiking boots that cover the ankle and that are already
broken in. The scenery on the entire hike is beautiful. Plus you can
reward yourself for all of your hard work on the ascent with a beer and
cake at the alpine cafe. |
